Facing a diagnosis of cancer can be a time of fear, anxiety and questioning. Patients and families often do not know where to turn for help. The Cancer Patient Support Foundation was created by a group of cancer survivors and others who have been touched by the disease. Their collective experience and first-hand knowledge led to the design of the program.
The Cancer Patient Emergency Fund aims to meet the immediate need of cancer patients in financial crisis due to their illness. It is used when all other support programs have been exhausted. The Fund’s services include, but are not limited to:
Emergency food and shelter
Telephone and heating bills
Transportation required by care plan
Medically appropriate supplies not covered by insurance
Childcare to allow a parent to receive cancer care
Applications for Cancer Patient Emergency Funds should be submitted by a patient’s social worker or medical provider. To be eligible, patients must be actively receiving treatment. For more details regarding eligibility or other program guidelines, please contact your social worker or medical provider.
